The Flood in Kangar, Perlis

On the 2nd of November, a flood hit perlis.

Fields turned into "water fields", roads turned into rivers, puddles turned into lakes. Water was everywhere! well....Almost =P

Lower areas have been covered by the flood waters as the water tank and rivers were overflowing due to the heavy downpour since Sunday. Some parts in perlis which are built at higher grounds were safe from the rushing waters. Because of the flood, electricity and water were cut off in some areas. Fortunately, the flood did not last for long that by the time the water has receded after 3 days, many could finally take their baths again, WITH LIGHTS ON.

These are the pictures from the first day taken by my dad in the morning.

By then, the rain has stopped but the water was still rising.

On the second day, everyone arised from sleep and realized that the water had risen too. lol!

worse still, it started to rain again!

Here are the photos. If you observe and compare the same places. you can see how much the water had risen from day one to day two.

In the evening, Benjamin and Joseph came over because their apartment were out of electricity. By then, the clouds have cleared and the sun gave out rays of bright yellow light.

so we went out for a walk to have a look of the waters. =P

 we wanted to walk to my school but it was so hard to walk in the water that we were moving at a very slow pace. Before we could reach my school, it was already dark so we headed home.

 

And erm yea... we just had to get wet before going back =P

it's not always that there's water everywhere anyway. hehe

Thanks to my awesome idea of running in the water, i fell down and got my whole body wet, from head to toes. eeeeee....anyway. it was really fun! =D

so finally the flood is over, everything's okay again. =)

p/s: just in case you're wondering if my house was affected, no it's not and i'm fine.
